Saturday April 7, 2007 China Theme Song for "Fei Chang You Xi" Revealed; Leehom Wang Mixes Rock with Opera The theme song for the Mainland Chinese Reality Show, "Fei Chang You Xi" was revealed yesterday. The theme song was sung by WANG LI HONG (Leehom), called "Xi Chu Dong Fang" (Drama of the East). Leehom especially flew from USA, where he was busy preparing for his next album, to Shanghai to prepare for the perfromance and MV. This time Leehom incorporated something different; instead of using his usual hip-hop mixed with Chinese opera, he used pop rock music mixed with Chinese opera. The song is composed by Leehom with the lyrics written by SMG's LI RUI GANG. Leehom said, "Before when I compose a new song I will usually compose the song first and then write the lyrics. This time it was different. The lyrics were written first and then I made the song. This is something very new for me." Leehom explained that he is already "in love" with Chinese opera. To especially prepare for this function Leehom wore his custom-made pendant with the face of a Chinese opera singer. When facing the paparazzi, Leehom avoided questions concerning about his new album and concerts. All he wanted to focus in was this new theme song and showed his devotion.
