Leila Tong, A Very Pure You Writer's Note: All along, it has been a question of staying and leaving. Recently Ken Hung Cheuk Lap went to TVB to film a drama, reason being to let people know him on a bigger surface and television is the best platform. Leila Tong originally had this platform, and she could have been a leading actress well-liked by both young and old. She was Sze Fei Hyun in "Twin Of Brothers" and the character was so fresh and beautiful. However, was it because of her Sagittarius personality that she left in the end? From then on, she only appears on the television screen occasionally. She went to search for greater freedom and improvement, and became the good friend of the female lead in "Marriage With A Fool", became the female lead in "A Very Short Life" who had a very repulsive husband. She also performed in stageplay and went all out to use vulgarities in the play. She could have been a little sister in TVB forever, however she threw it all away and went to be a Leila Tong which is more like herself. Actually, it is really a pity whenever someone leaves. Although their future may not be worse than before - Look at Michelle Yip who was once highly promoted. She is the leading actress in movies now. However, whether it is Leila or Michelle, they just gave up a chance to let people see them often. To them, this is not so important. Someone asked me once, "What did you all like about her?" It's her who made friends from all over the country come together. It's her who gave everyone a common topic to talk about, It's her who accompanied us through the years. And it's also her who made us realise that we should love ourselves, enjoy life and face everything positively, do not compete and ignore the importance of status. Only then we can live freely and truthfully. Indeed, perhaps we do not understand the real her, but we can talk about how is she like to us. Perhaps she is not super popular, does not have any overwhelming news, is not a super beautiful woman who charms everyone, and even has only a couple of chances to play the leading actress in drama series. However, these do not represent anything! People seem to only care about the number of dramas, the on-screen exposure rate, if there are any topics or rumours. As if only this is called the entertainment circle. In the entertainment circle, you entertain others as well as yourself. You create the news and I read them, this seems to be the fixed cycle! It's not as if she did not have such a chance. However, these are not what she chose and pursued. To choose a lifestyle of her own, her attitude towards people and things, enjoying life with a thankful heard, her free-spiritness is the main reason why we all like her. She treats fans sincerely, performs seriously, is passionate about life and enthusiastic when it comes to doing charity. All these are enough for us to show her unlimited support! She once said before that she only wants to be a happy person. As for other stuff, are they important? At least for her, those are not important. Thus, even if she is not super popular, but she has made it till today with all her hard work. From the past till now, and I believe this will be the case in the future as well. All of us like the Leila who is down to earth. As for news? I believe everyone hopes that their idols will have more news as this implies that they will be able to understand him/her more. That's right, we also do hope that there will be more news about her, but definitely not those meaningless rumours! Although there are not much news about Leila, but everytime when there's a coverage, it is mostly about charity, goodwill and education related. And these news are usually the smaller news at the sides which are difficult to find. I believe if not for the fans who make the effort to find, these news will be very difficult to surface. This is her, doing the things she like in a low-profile way and not asking for high exposure rate but to give and participate silently. This is the way about her which makes us like her even more! Towards acting, she really likes her role as an actor from the bottom of her heart. Not for fame, not for status and not insistent on being the leading female actress. She is persistent about her passion for acting. As long as it helps in her acting skills, she will attempt all kinds of different characters. This is why there are characters of so many different styles. Rain Yau Wing in "Aqua Heroes" who is a little wilful, Sze Fei Hyun in "Twin Of Brothers" who is so out of the world, Ha Hiu Ching in "The Last Breakthrough" who is so passionate, the lively ghost Xiao Xie in "Liao Zhai", the fourth wife who is so strong and suffers in silence in "War And Destiny", Tseung Sze Ting who is so righteous in "Bar Benders", Sheung Koon Yuen Yee who is so brilliant in "The Greatness of a Hero" and many many others. Also, in "The Last Princess", Leila has wonderfully portrayed the ups and downs in Li Kai Xin's life and its three difference stages has three difference kinds of personalities. This totally exhibits her brilliant acting skills! In 2009, she portrayed a criminal who accidentally killed her own daughter in "A Very Short Life". In this film, Leila once again made a breakthrough for herself by attempting a very different role! All these roles not only allow us to watch so many wonderful dramas and also made us like this girl, this artiste who uses her heart to act! Whenever fans go for a site visit, they will like the real Leila Tong even more. She's cheerful, cute, thoughtful and they can feel the nice way she treats people whenever they are with her! She will talk to fans who are unable to visit her through the phone, will joke around with the fans who visited her and will also care for her fans in the midst of the busy filming schedule. Those people who have gone for a site visit before all said that Leila is so nice that they do not get the feeling that she's a star but instead is a very amicable person.
