Wednesday August 20, 2008 Hong Kong Leo Ku (古巨基) has been enjoying himself in Beijing as a guest host for TVB's Olympic Games coverage. After his exciting commentary during coverage of the women's volleyball quarter-final match between China and Russia yesterday, Leo has received a lot of praise for his performance. When Leo heard this, he was thankful for the support and admitted openly that he was very absorbed into atmosphere of the event because there was a sea of red flags in the audience and he was also heavily influenced by his co-presenter Lui Lai Yi (雷禮義), from whom he has learned a lot. When Leo emerged from the commentary box to interview the winning team members, he caused a small commotion when he stole much of the attention from the athletes. He said that the volleyball team vice-captain was quite shocked to see him interviewing her and some of the other reporters even turned and started to interview him. Leo said tht he has thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being a sports commentator and although he was quite excited and nervous, it was comforting to be under the leadership of seasoned host Carol Cheng (鄭裕玲). He smiled that he feels he has matured since he last ran around with a microphone as a host for TVB's gossip show at the start of his showbiz career. Leo laughed that he is not as dopey as he was back then. Asked how he felt about Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang (劉翔)'s withdrawl from the games through injury, Leo said that it was a shame and he was quite worried about the runner when he watched the developments from the commentary box at the Bird's Nest stadium. credits: batgwa.
