What happens when a talented classical pianist and a dreamy romantic singer come together? All ships set sail! For more than a month, pianist Li Yundi (李雲迪) and Taiwanese pop singer Leehom Wang (王力宏) were rumored to be more than just friends. The “brokeback” accusations first began when the paparazzi spotted Leehom and Yundi holding hands at A-mei’s (張惠妹) new pub in October 2012. In November 2012 during Thanksgiving weekend, Yundi invited Leehom to his residence in Beijing to have dinner. Leehom also implied through a Weibo post that he had a movie date with Yundi to watch new 3D film, Life of Pi, that same weekend. Contrary to popular belief, many fans openly supported the rumored coupled. Known as the “Homdi” shippers, Leehom and Yundi supporters diligently scoured every corner of the internet to find as many moments as they could to document their “true love.” Many fan fiction and editorials dedicated to the couple were also written. At the red carpet premiere of Jackie Chan’s (成龍) new action flick CZ12 <十二生肖>, Leehom and Yundi were the most popular guests that night, receiving more top headline treatment than even the film’s own stars. When Leehom and Yundi’s “relationship” was exposed, Leehom’s Weibo followers increased tenfold. Currently with 27 million followers, Leehom is the second most popular Weibo user online. However, neither Leehom nor Yundi ever clarified to the media whether their romantic rumors were true or not. With the popularity they are getting recently, should they? In an interview with Guangzhou’s Southern Metropolis Weekly, Yundi briefly revealed his current relationship with Leehom. Yundi said, “Personally, I think Leehom and I do share a lot of sparks through our music. We are also great friends. I’ve known Leehom since 2007. Since he is also very familiar with classical music, we clicked fast. We have many topics to talk about, not only privately, but also through our professional careers as well.” Couple or not, Leehom and Yundi share many things in common. i guess they truly are gay then. otherwise, i don't see a reason not to clarify. it just takes one of both to say they're not gay and the rumors are over.
I think they're gay too .. look at them, they're so different. Even if they have "music" in common, it's very uncommon for the two to be friend or even this close of a friendship in a such a short time. I don't know but this Yundi guy gives me the creep.
