Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) has been a heavily discussed subject since her appearance on the reality prank show, Office of Practical Jokes <玩嘢王>, where she displayed incredible acting abilities. Linda’s health has not been in top form recently, but with the encouragement of fans, Linda hopes to win TV queen, get married and start a family in the next two years. Despite the success of her roles in Heart of Greed <溏心風暴> and Yes Sir, Sorry Sir <點解阿Sir係阿Sir>, Linda has failed to win the Best Actress award and had lost confidence in herself. It is not clear whether Brother’s Keeper <巨轮> will be aired this year either. Linda admitted she was surprised by the good feedback on her appearance in Office of Practical Jokes, “I never knew I would get such praises from everyone. I just followed the script to be on the show! I’m surprised at the love I’m receiving and it really helped me regain my confidence.” Linda Considered Quitting Acting Despite the good praises for her acting, Linda lacks confidence in herself. “When I first started, everyone told me I should just give up because I’m too shy, don’t take initiative, and unsuitable for this industry. Even if I were to continue acting, I will eventually be ousted. I actually thought I would only last two years in this industry.” Since filming Daddy Good Deeds <當旺爸爸>, Linda has been suffering from health problems. At one point, she filmed five dramas consecutively, which took a hard toll on her health, including the development of heavy rashes on her face and body. “The doctor said that if I don’t take a good rest, then my thyroid would have problems. I really wanted to quit that time.” Planning for Marriage Linda said her next goal is to win the Best Actress award and afterwards, move on to the next stage of her life – marriage. “I hope that working hard the next two years will allow me to win the Best Actress award before I turn 31 years old. After winning the recognition, I can plan for the next stage in my life, and think about marriage.” Linda believes that having a home is more important than having a career and that her objective is to eventually move back to Canada to live with her own family. “My career is important, but it won’t be important for my entire life.” When asked if her ideal husband is rumored boyfriend, Philip Ng (伍允龍), Linda answered that the gossip in the entertainment industry is too ruthless, and she prefers to keep things underground until she makes an official announcement. “Kelly Chen (陳慧琳) is my idol; she maintains a healthy balance between her established career and love life.” Creds: Ming pao
