Hello my fellow PAsians =) i can´t remember the last time when i made yau tzar guai, but back then i used the instant one, u can buy at every asian market.... this week i had the urging feeling to eat some fish congee and isn´t there anything better than deep fried dough sticks to go with congee? =)
i didn´t wanted to use the instant one, so i looked for a recipe on the net, and the ones i found were all similar.... 15 g alum and 7 g baking soda, little salt and then dissolve it in water and and and,... after i kneaded it and let it rest
i kneaded it again and later on deep fried it, but when i tasted it there was a strong taste and smell which displeased me, dunno if it is the alum or baking soda, but it was unbearable, so to cut a long story short, i need ur help to save my week and to end it with eating uberyummy yau tzar guai, help me out with ur recipe versions so that i can get the taste of it again and choke on it satisfied ^^ post post post :D
