Maggie Cheung catches flu in New York Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung, in New York for a photo shoot, was down with a fever when she left the country and had to cancel her appearance at an opening ceremony in Taiwan. Currently resting at home, Cheung sent out a press release to clarify that she was just having the common cold and not a fever, in case anyone was wondering if she had caught the H1N1 virus. She was due to be in Taiwan for an opening ceremony at 2pm on Wednesday but felt unwell when she set off from New York. She cancelled the appearance and set off at 7am that morning to fly back to Hong Kong for treatment. Members of the press surrounded the brand's designer at the event when they found out that Cheung would not be appearing at the event. He said, "She found out that she was ill and called me immediately. I told her that it is more important to seek treatment. She is now in Hong Kong to see her doctor." The designer, Cheung's close friend, expressed that the actress is just having a mild cold. He said, "You know New York is one of the worst affected areas. It was raining for a couple of days when she was there and she probably caught a cold when she was doing a photo shoot. She had a runny nose and mild cough on the plane." Cheung's ex-boyfriend Guillaume said, "It's a load off our mind to know that she's feeling much better and is now recuperating at home."
I think sometimes, these people are just over reacting. There're really that many swine flu out there.
