WINNIPEG (CP) - A Manitoba member of Parliament hopes to connect with young constituents by issuing a special series of his own trading cards. Steven Fletcher, who represents the Winnipeg riding of Charleswood-St. James-Assiniboia, has printed 40,000 cards featuring his picture and statistics as a Tory parliamentarian. There are four different cards, one of which is an all-star card showing a picture of Fletcher with Prime Minister Stephen Harper. "I do a lot of speaking at schools and so on. But I've found the grandparents like the cards and the parents like the cards," Fletcher said. The cards cost about four cents each to make, and Fletcher has sent some sets to his fellow Conservative caucus members. Fletcher admits they were not printed in Canada. "These ones were done in the States," he said. Treasury Board President Vic Toews said he got his set of cards this week, and noted that a statistic listed on the back of one of the cards states that Fletcher has spoken a total of 46,734 words in the House of Commons. Fletcher says he plans to bring the cards to a Conservative caucus retreat next week Source My Pierre Trudeau card beats your Brian Mulroney card any day. Noob. Yes world this is how we Canadians spend our spare time. We make trading cards of ourselves.
