Returning for its 10th remarkable season in 2018, MasterChef Australia promises a season full of surprises, where contestants will be tested by the biggest international and local culinary legends and challenged to create delicious and beautiful home-cooked meals set to ensure a truly exceptional series. Twenty-four home cooks will earn the privilege of donning the coveted MasterChef Australia apron, joining an elite group from nine previous seasons who have gone on to achieve critical acclaim and culinary success. MasterChef Australia is a Logie Award-winning Australian reality competitive cooking game show based on the original British MasterChef. It is produced by Shine Australia and screens on Network Ten. Restaurateur and chef Gary Mehigan, chef George Calombaris and food critic Matt Preston serve as the show's main judges. The show is premiered 7:30pm every Sunday–Thursday on Network Ten. The series has also spawned four spin-off series: Celebrity MasterChef Australia, which featured celebrity contestants, Junior MasterChef Australia, which featured younger contestants, MasterChef Australia All-Stars, which featured returning contestants from the first three series, and MasterChef Australia: The Professionals, which features professional chefs as contestants. These spin-off shows did not air in 2014 after the producers of the show announced that they wanted to solely focus on the original version.
