Fans are in for a dilemma this April. Two of the biggest Taiwanese groups have chosen the same night to hold their concerts here, promising to set off a series of unfortunate events. The trio of S.H.E is slated to perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 17 Apr for their S.H.E is the One World Tour. News arrived yesterday morning that rock band Mayday will have their Singapore stop of their DNA World Tour on the same date, at the Padang. Since their successful and unprecedented two shows here last August, which attracted 14,000 people in total, there has been talk that Mayday will be back soon. 17 Apr will be the group's first priced outdoor concert in Singapore. The concert is believed to be similar to DNA's Kaohsiung stop, although their company Rock Records said they are still in the midst of planning. The 18-metre-tall stage made famous at Kaohsiung is expected to break local records for the largest performing stage ever, while the runway will be the longest as well, stretching to twice the length of the Indoor Stadium's. Mayday will also bring with them two mega ring stages that offer 360-degree views for the fans. Music-wise, the band will make necessary adjustments so that "people who have watched other DNA concerts will still be thrilled". Both S.H.E and Mayday are known for their sold-out concerts, so it will be interesting to see who come out tops in the ticket sales this time round. Upon media queries, Rock Records responded that the clash is inevitable as 17 Apr is the only day that fits both Mayday's and the Padang venue's schedules. The organizers hope to attract 15,000 this time. They are also not worried about going head-to-head with the girl group, because of the difference in genres. The spokesperson for S.H.E's company HIM Music, however, said they are a little worried because they had not expected this. But they are staying optimistic, arguing that the long break (it has been three years since S.H.E held a concert here) plus the different fanbases should help them. S.H.E's concert is expected to be similar to their Hong Kong one, and they hope to sell 8,000 tickets. Source: Yahoo! News
