At this year’s TVB Anniversary Awards, numerous contenders will be fighting for the Most Improved Actor and Actress Awards, resulting in a fierce battle! The hot favorite for the Most Improved Actress Award was Mandy Wong (黃智雯), who has been taking on increasingly important roles, and rap singer, MC Jin (歐陽靖) for the Most Improved Actress Award. The onscreen couple from Lives of Omission <潛行狙擊> hoped to win the Most Improved Awards together! The popularity of Lives of Omission made MC Jin and Mandy Wong favorites in winning the Most Improved Awards. Both MC Jin and Mandy hoped that the other person will win the award. Although Mandy indicated that MC Jin possessed a wonderful sense of humor, he would turn very serious during actual filming. MC Jin praised Mandy for her good looks and acting talent, “She is very professional and cheerful! We worked together very well!” Sire Ma Poses Fierce Competition Mandy Wong joined the entertainment industry 4 years ago, after losing in the 2007 Miss Hong Kong competition. Since graduating from TVB acting class, Mandy has been given numerous performance opportunities. This year, Mandy delivered commendable performances in Lives of Omission, Ghetto Justice <怒火街頭>, and Men With No Shadows <不速之約>. Although she frequently portrayed good girl roles in the past, Mandy’s undercover agent character in Lives of Omission was more independent. However, the nominees are at the same level and entered the industry during the same time frame. MC Jin Not a TVB Contracted Artist MC Jin achieved fame in the United States through his rap music. He entered the household market through his performance in Lives of Omission. When MC Jin went outside, pedestrians called him by his character’s name in Lives of Omission. MC Jin Rap smiled and thanked lucky charm, “Laughing Sir”! Upon learning that he will play an undercover police officer in Lives of Omission, MC Jin assessed the portrayal from different perspectives. “At first, I thought that I will die after the first ten episodes. When there was a reaction was positive, I was able to remain until the ending finale and asked to join the film cast. This was unexpected for me!” MC Jin was the only non-contracted artist to be nominated in the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards. sire is cute but that accent of hers ..i still hear it..i see improvement though. Mandy has connections with TVB...i think one her relatives is a writer/producer @ TVB..read somewhere ...so she has inside track
Mandy.. sure. She was in shit loads of series this year and upcoming too i think. Didn't Chilam get nominated? I thought he wasn't TVB.. & i thought Jin was TVB LOL! But yes.. Jazz+Gum Gong did pretty great too. One can only be nominated once on Improving Actor??
I go for Mandy, though i do like Sire Ma too! She gets like near main character though. She seems to be one of those new main characters. Where Mandy is still just a support and not much main.
Sire definitely has the potential to win awards....hope she'll show up more next year.....i'm just sick of watching the same old pplz like bosco, ron, ray, tavia, kate (omg), etc....
