Saturday August 12, 2006 Hong Kong MHK 2006 Finals to be Held Tonight ‘2006 Miss Hong Kong Competition’ will be held at Hong Kong Coliseum tonight. The sixteen candidates will be battling for the prestigious awards of Miss Photogenic, Miss Friendship, Second Runner Up, Runner Up and none other than the Miss Hong Kong crown. Yesterday afternoon, the girls practiced the swimwear part of the competition. Candidates who have been branded to be most likely to win include, Joyce Wong (4), Koni Lui (5), Suki Chui (8), Aimee Chan (13) and Janet Chow (15) while Amy Tsang (1) and Florence Li (3) have been named for being the favourite ‘losers’. Earlier, a company opened a betting pool which named Suki Chui as hot favourite by as much as half. When asked how she felt, Suki replied, “Ok la. (You are the hot favourite!) This is because I have a lot of supporters. (Will your boyfriend be betting?) I don’t want him to feel like I’m an item and he doesn’t like betting anyways. Although my father does bet on horses, but my family will never bet on me.” Ever since entering the competition, Suki has made quite a few headlines and has been called the news queen. Regarding this, Suki believes that this will not affect the judges and she hopes that she will be able to present herself the best. Suki commented, “I do believe I’m quite lucky. (Did you do any fengshui?) No. (Will you go to speak to TVB’s executives to ensure you the winner’s crown?) I promise I never did and never will. My boyfriend is very unhappy about this rumour!” Another hot favourite, Janet Chow (15), has been placed 4th in the betting pool. This has made her supporters extremely happy. Due to not knowing where to place bettings, both Janet and her boyfriend have not done any betting. Earlier she was reported that Janet and her boyfriend were living together and because of making excessive noise in the night time, neighbours had issued complaints. She was also caught kissing her boyfriend in public. Janet expressed that her boyfriend was not upset by the reports but because her mother is afraid that this might affect her, her mother has told them two to see each other less. There have been rumours than Aimee Chan (13) has had breast implants. Aimee expressed that she has not read such reports and so, it has not affected her emotions. When asked if she believed such rumours are negative, Aimee stated that she believes that everyone has their own perspectives and that she believes that it’s what in the inside that is most important. Joyce Wong (4) yesterday told reporters that she did not feel nervous about the whole thing yet but expressed that when taking photos with candidates who have full chests, she feels quite plain. credits: takungpao, asianfanatics.
