"Housewife Killer" Michael Tao Dai Yu could not pass the "7 year itch" in his marriage and acknowledged that he and his wife, Ah Bo, have divorced. Allegedly, Ah Bo, confided to a close friend that their divorce was a result of the third party involvement of Michael's "On the First Beat" co-star, Sonija Kwok Sin Lei!

Michael and Ah Bo dated for 10 years and were married for 7 years. Michael admitted that he signed divorce papers 3 weeks ago. "I don't want to lie; my ex-wife and I separated under good terms and I feel at peace. I am openly discussing the divorce because I do not want friends to worry."

What was the reason for the divorce? Michael said, "I don't really know myself!"

Michael felt sad that his 17 year relationship with Ah Bo had to end in divorce. "Of course I feel sad over the separation. Many of my friends have expressed concern, but I could not prevent the divorce. We separated for personal reasons and there was no third party involvement!"

Was Sonija the third party? "The divorce was a result of family matters. I feel bad for implicating Sonija and will have to apologize to her next time." Michael also noted that Sonija was a good co-star.

Since Michael's ex-wife does not work, he agreed to leave her the apartment and move back to live with his mother instead. The custody of their pet dog, Boss 「大佬」, will be under Ah Bo's care.

Reporters also contacted Sonija's ex-boyfriend, Deric Wan Siu Lun for comments regarding her alleged implication in Michael Tao's divorce. Deric was calm, "I have no feeling towards the news. I have no interest either. We have not kept in touch."

On the day that the rumors broke, Sonija could not be contacted for comment.
TVB executive, Virginia Lok Yi Ling defended Sonija, "Perhaps she was scared by too many reporters trying to reach her! This will not affect her work. We will not interfere with her private life, but if it impacts her image, then will give her some advice."
