Recently, there have been recent reports stating that Miriam Yeung has contracted a weird disease and so, she will be stepping out of the limelight for half a year. For this reason, Gold Label has organized for Stephy Tang to replace Miriam in an advertisement. The article published by a tabloid also stated that because Miriam will not renew her contract with GL, her manager, Paco Wong, has stopped her from earning any more money. Yesterday, during an interview, Miriam denied the claims. Regarding the latest reports, Miriam exclaimed, “How evil! God bless you!” She then expressed that she only plans to take a break for a holiday in Japan. Regarding Stephy and Fiona Sit replacing her in ads, Miriam explained, “Some I’m still contracted, some I have worked on for a long time. Sometimes when there is a new product, different artists are given the job to promote the product. It is all very ordinary. (It is also rumoured that because you refuse to renew your contract, Gold Label is replacing you with Stephy.) I don’t know which contracts have expired. I can’t check the contracts of all the advertisements I’ve worked on everyday. I don’t see anything wrong in artists from my company working on ads.” Miriam’s contract with Gold Label will expire next year. The singer admitted that she understood that this matter has become a touchy subject but revealed that still has jobs while she is under the management of GL. Miriam disclosed that she will be working on a few ads, including a drink ad and a beauty product ad. Regarding the rumours of her being sick, she commented, “I don’t know that happened. I have not been hospitalized. I just have not been having enough sleep. (Is it true that your health condition is so bad that you are not even able to work on an ad?) No, reporters only made it up so that people will buy their magazines. But I take it as a compliment; it means that I have market value!”
