The Miss Asia Pageant (Traditional Chinese: 亞洲小姐競選), is organized by the Asia Television Limited (ATV, a broadcast company in Hong Kong), and they have organized this event since 1985. The contest was stopped from the year of 2000 through 2003, and relaunched in 2004. Since 2004, it became an event for not just Hong Kong, but also for the rest of Asia as contestants from other parts of Asia participate. Up to 2005, the other Asian contestants have come from these countries or regions: Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, Thailand, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, India, Singapore, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam. Apart from the Champion, the Runner ups and different awards are awarded occasionally. Starting from 2004, the semi-finals are held in Hong Kong and Mainland China. The final tournament's format was changed to divide contestants into 3 regions: Special Administrative Region (including Hong Kong and Macau), Mainland China, and other countries Asia.
