the ratios on the pig are a bit idealistic. if only people donated that large of a ratio... then again.. taxes are like donations.
My piggy bank is a big old tin kept under my fish tank. When I've small denomination coins, I throw them in there. Once they are full, I take them to a coin counter at my local supermarket. It takes a cut for charity and the coupon it churns out I exchange it for food at the supermarket checkout.
