Money grabbing credit card manchine companies!

    I work for my dad at his chinese take away part time and hetakes card payments coz that seems to be another easier way to get the money rather tan cashing out cheques without the risk of it bouncing... Anyways, for the past year he had been using this card machine which has a bluetooth terminal so there is no cable attatched to the card machine itself.
    But lately it has been saying that the Bluetooth terminal has fault and the machine kept reinitialising, but the piece of crap still doesn't work when I restart (or the turn the power off of the Bluetooth terminal). But it works after a whil for some reason, it's really weird :S

    Worst of off is that coz my dad English is proper crap I have to speak on his behalf down the phone yesterday to Streamline (the provider that rents us the machine - yes we are paying rent for it!) first problem is that apparently i have not called them before about this terminal fault which i have in the past but not as frequent, which meant that the Merchant department will not change the machine for us as according to them there is NO fault with it and if we are to change it we have to pay £125 jsut to change it? (WTF we are paying line rental on the current car machine already, we just want a new machine not a new contract :S and the fact he machine is faulty)
    Second problem is that i gave them my mobile number yesterday so tha they can contact me so i could be there when the engineer arrives but no... they rang the shop's phone number, my uncle answered but said he was busy and they just walked into the shop and apparently it was working? I mean i gave them my phone number for a reason so that i could be there!!
    Third problem is that after i dont groceries shopping, i got told i have to do a delivery before i go home, which i did but before i done that the card machine done the same Bluetooth fault again but this time it wasn't budging at all, had to call that stupid Technical department again and they were utterly useless, their methods didn't work at all and i had to shout down the phone so that he could hear me like (and the guy sounds like he's in his 20 - 30s with an annoying scousers accent) but this time i made sure that they do ring my phone tomorrow before the engineer arrives though

    ARGH!! SO STUPID WHY THE FUCK DO THEY HAVE TO CHARGE US £125 AND WON'T ALLOW US TO CHANGE UNTIL THE ENGINEER SAYS THAT THERE IS A FAULT THEN THEY MIGHT CONSIDER WE CA CHANGE FOR FREE? HOW FUCKING MONEY GRABBING IS THAT!

  2. Right first, translating down the phone sux, i had to do the same for my grandmother, then the person on the other end gets mad am me! >.<

    second, you do pay rent, but really you should only be paying a percentage on each transaction rather than rent for the machine, you neeeed to look for another company that provides a better service than the current guys your with, bluetooth sux, its prone to interference and other problems, tell them to give you a proper machine and to stop being cheap.

    ^ streamline is the mainstream copmpany forthiscompanies

    and yes i have asked for a new machine which is not bluetooth and the fact i have called up several times about this problem and they said the log does nto hold reord of it.. WTF isit jsut me or are they just lying?

    I agree, change company, thats the best way to deal with crap companies, take your business else where

    or at least threaten them with that, if they dont get their act together
     
  7. ^ yup when you say your gona quit they usually throw a bunch of special offers at you :p

    But if the company is big and well known then maybe they have gotten a bit to comfortable and dont care anymore, that happens, usually smaller companies that focus on customer satisfaction would be better.

    which reminds me, i once went to a french restaurant that had bluetooth terminal thing... it was pretty cool.


    But i guess when things start to go wonkie, things turn ugly.
    Sounds like pretty bad customer service there =/... i hope things turn out for you!

    ^ well the problem now is that i got told on the phone that they would send an engineer out today but when my dad called later on when i left the shop he got told they will come on friday instead? WTF like? being told like different stories here!!
    so they better be there tomorrow or i will screw!!
