Everytime I go to Hong Kong I expect to get bitten by mosquitos, However everytime i get bitten I always getr swollen up pretty much badly, This time I'm not going to scratch them so that they can heal quicker but it hurts to touch it and all that Thing is though I have been here for a week and got less than 10 bites until yesterday.... 21 BITES in less than 10 minutes!! and now my legs are as swollen and as fat as a pigs leg!! and both legs too! >.<
i dont know why, but when i get bitten in aus, it swells up, but just a tiny winy bit. in HK it gets MASSIVELY swollen, so swollen my mum usually takes me to the clinic just incase.
poisonnous bites i say coz my legs have gone down a bit but once it's out of the cold places, it swells back up hugely :S
they don't work :S plus at that place where i got 20 bites from, ididn't know there were mosquitos there just presume it was one of those outdoors factory/ fence making places, but hell iwas wrong, luckily the office was nearby in the cool air conditioned place haha
Mosquito bites over there seem to be more serious, it's like city mosquitoes vs non-city mosquitoes, the non-city ones usually are worst. They are a different breed, also carrying different germs. I remember going camping once and I was smart to spray repellent everywhere but forgot my feet and the next day, I have around 20+ bites. It was so itchy.
Strangely, I never get mosquito bites whenever I stay in Taiwan, and I usually stay for an extended period of time. Hong Kong's a different story, though. And I hate using mosquito repellent spray 'cause that shit stinks.
Yea... you only get like mosquito bite if you go hiking or something... -_- Other than that, you have a pretty low rate of getting bitten by a mosquito
if you live in New Terroritory there's a higher chance to have mosquitos in villages, farmlands and even in flats/apartments, so long as the air conditioning is on and the windows are closed, you are pretty much safe
i always get them!! since i live in san gai - lam tsuen! always gets bite - and i just HAVE to scratch them!!! lol. those mun heung doesn't even work! nothing works!!
i wonder how many mosquitoes had bitten me & how many mice/rats had i encountered the past 11 yrs i spent in china = COUNTLESS another good reason why i moved away -whistle
I remember every time I'm in HK or the Guangzhou region, I notice that all the kids everywhere I see, have multiple scabs on their legs. I assume these generally are from a variety of insect related encounters... >.<
EXACTLY. what makes it worse is that it's VERY VERY SO FKING humid there, northern region sucks lol, so humid...nothing works to kill the mosquito unless u're wearing some warrior suit or something, astronaut suit. I rmb sleeping in the mosquito net but still feeling quite itchy & hot, no A/C of cuz.
Those mosquito nets sometimes have the opposite affect, if a couple of them were inside already, you are so screwed all night, it happened to me, I thought I was smart till I woke up hearing something flying around my ears. I used a flashlight and I saw like 2 huge fckers just flying around...I used my flashlight and went hunting, took awhile but they had no chance, even took a few shots. Won that battle but no way in hell will we win the war.:(
LOL... and even with the Mos Nets, there's no guarantee that bugs or other vermin (snakes, rats, lizards, spiders about the size of your hand) don't crawl in. Most of China has gotten a lot better, but if you have to stay in the old villages (which admittedly does have certain other kinds of charms) then you better be chemically prepared, ha ha...
