She's beaming with pride at her new baby daughter and 70-year-old first time mother Rajo Devi says she still hopes to add to her brood. The farmer's wife from Haryana, India gave birth to a baby girl Naveen Lohan by caesarean section on 28th November and now says she wants a son. 'It's amazing to finally be a mum,' she said. 'Ive waited for so long to have a baby of my own. Now I would love to have a boy as well.' Rajo and her husband Bala Ram, 72, say they have been trying to conceive since they married in 1943. 'We prayed to all the fertility gods. I thank the doctor for making it possible,' she said. First time father Bala is also keen for more children. 'We finally have someone to take over the farm when we die. Maybe in the future the doctor can give us a son.' The couple used a donor egg fertilized with Bala's sperm implanted in his wife and Rajo became pregnant at the second attempt at IVF. Bala mortgaged next year's crop of rice and bamboo as well as taking out some high-interest loans to pay for the £2,000 treatment. IVF doctor Anurag Bishnoi said: 'There was no risk to her health. We do not treat patients who do not seem to be fit and able to carry a baby to term. 'Rajo has no intention of dying and is going to try again for a boy in two years. I've agreed to have a look at her case then.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/wor...VENTY-shows-daughter-says-Now-I-want-son.html
i kinda think its unfair on the child... cos by the time the child is like 5 or something, the parents are probably guna be dead =x
lol, hopefully the parents will live to be 100+ -^_^ ... the mother is like old enough to be her daughter's grandmommy. >.<
they used a doner egg and not hers. If they used her they would be at risk for any things...but damn they goin to be like 90 something by the time the kid is even 21
that bb loooks so tinyyy....i remember reading about her in the newspapers when she was pregnant with the bb...and the media created such a fuss about it...whether its right/wrong i dunno i think its good and bad really...it says shes been trying for a bb since 1943...so this is like a dream come true for her...but i guess its bad for the bb....but the bb's gonna be so lubbed...the rents are gonna smother her so muchyy..
wow thats kind of scary, how could they provide for the child if they are at that age, even if they live to 100+ how cant they make/get the money to support themselves and the child heck the child at a young age might have to support her parents!
also, if they really wanted a child, they coulda looked into fostering kids instead...but all the best to them i guess..
that is just ridiculous!!!.... people really need to think about the child's well being before anything else...
congratulation to her but dang....kinda crazy to give birth around 70's. she coulda been the baby's grandma...
