Damn right something is peeing me off!!!!!!!!!! So, I got a call from my ex-landlord today saying: "You need to move everything out." My reaction was "WTF?????", obviously I didn't swear at him, but you can imagine. I mean if you're moving house then it would make sense to move everything out right? So here's my story: We're students so we only rented the house for one year, the house consists of 3people (including me). We know the people who are moving in next, so we ask them if we can leave our stuff there during Summer, they said yes. We stored our stuff in the lounge. Sorted. Simple. ................... Unfortunately not! Well we're not supposed to make personal arrangements and need to notify the agency and the landlord, which is fair enough ebcause it's policy right? (And I completely understand now, because everything is getting confusing.) So the new tenants went to talk to the agency (because they wanted to move their stuff in when the house was still ours- our contract ends July). One of the tenants said they didn't want the stuff in the llounge because there's no space to sit, which is fair enough. So the other tenant said we can move it into her room, so we did. So I thought it was over. But then i got yet another call from the landlord saying one of the tenants (which i suspect was the girl who didn't want the stuff in the living room) doesn't want ANYTHING in the house ANYWHERE, and claimed we (might i add, "we" here is no longer more and it's just ME because my housemates have left the country) have to take everything out. 1. Landlord was annoyed at me because we left too much, which i understand because when he initially saw the stuff, it wasn't as much. But now I've added a few more bags to the pile, but it only looks like a LOT because they're in bags! I didn't have any boxes so I had to use bags, thus use up more space. So OK, he has reason to be annoyed at me, but I thought he wouldn't mind because he didn't mind about the initial pile and the stuff didn't fit in the car- so i left it here because i would have needed the stuff again next year anyway. (So yes I do admit I'm in the wrong too, and not completely perfect). 2. I'm being told different things. First we resolved the issue by moving things into the room (which the agents said "The things that go on in the rooms, don't involve anyone else but the owner of the ROOM (not the house)" So surely it shouldn't involve her (tenant who wants everything out) because it is not her room. 3. She annoys me in general. 4. I will be very pissed if I was told to move EVERYTHING out, because half of it isn't mine anyway. Just a bit pissed off really! Rant, seemingly over.
yeh... but it says ur contract ends july... i dun think they have the right to complain just yet... lol i'd probably just tell that chick to take the piss and get ur stuff on the last day
no, we discussed and had an agreement that we could leave the things during summer in someone's room (which doesn't bother her, like it's not her room and the girl who's room it is said it's ok)- i think it's because she's having friends staying with her so she's going to hv people in that room! but is she allowed to do that? apparently they're staying for summer!
lol its time to Whip out those Moves u learnt from Phoenix Wright lol , and if that doesnt work, just bite her arm =P but seriously, they cant do anything coz u got it on paper =P
Lolll!! she'll probably sue me if i bite her arm hahaa! And that's the thing, we don't have it on paper, because initial is was a personal arrangement then we were told we are not allowed to do that, so then told the agents about it. After the agents were told, everything seemed fine but seems now she's taking back her words.
well as far as im aware the contract ends in July so they can't use that and u can keep ur stuff there till ur contract ends. she can argue wat she wants but u signed on the dotted line and so did they that the contract ends in July so they can't move ur stuff away.
another catch, we were planning to keep our stuff there for summer because my housemates = internationals, so they can only pick it up when they're back from summer! BUT, we had already discussed about this issue and it isn't as if they didn't know about it- so no surprises or shocks there... it's just suddenly one of the tenants are saying they want to move our stuff out....... duno why...? kinda going bk on words.
talk to the girl that owns the room u guys have ur stuff in... if she says ok, then there's nothing that other chick can do about it especially since the agents reassured u and landlord all ready know about it... or u can just say u all ready moved the stuff and keep that door closed with ur stuff in it... she has no right to go in there so she wouldn't know ... or u can bite her arm
Such a mess. LOLz Other solutions might be... 1. Ask other friends for place to put ur stuffs.. or 2. Rent a "storage room" per month... it comes in many sizes.
