i use to be able to play RMVB videos perfectly.

i dont know why suddenly one day, all my files seem muted... even the old ones i use to be able to watch, the picture comes out perfectly...

    does anyone know whats wrong?

i have to move the files to another computer to watch my rmvb files now......

i use real alternative codec, other files types like avi work perfect

Maybe try reinstalling a fresh copy of the player and see how it goes?

maybe you have to reinstall your codecs

did u completely remove it with all the codecs, then try again. i use media player classic. u can always get that with the k-lite pack and u should be able to watch rmvb files fine. have u installed any new programs recently which may clash with the codecs?

I suggest u to totally uninstall all codecs and reinstalling it...

Try checking your sound system driver because at times it will get corrupted so you might need to reinstall it....

And also check out your video player settings(maybe you accidentally muted it or it went haywire)

i think try to un install all the k lite codecs or just install the real media player from the site...wait so you using real alternative player now and don't have the legit real player installed right?

i've heard that realplayer 11 has a codec which clashes with winavi or something along those lines. if that is true then i would advise u not to install the real media player. i think the k-lite codec is the best, it works a charm for me and when installing it i think u get an option to remove all the existing codecs. so try and install that and tell us what happens.

Have you installed any new codecs recently? They might be conflicting with your old ones. Even if you haven't installed any new codecs recently, try to reinstall them.

its all about the codec.. usually codecs are either not working along with other codecs installed..
