Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) will join the star-studded cast of TVB’s upcoming period epic The Hero <梟雄>, which stars veteran actors Anthony Wong (黃秋生), Wayne Lai (黎耀祥), and Kent Tong (湯鎮業), a former member of the Five Tigers. Myolie is beyond excited to be working with the trio and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anthony, whom she described as a teacher. “This is an opportunity for me to learn modestly. There are so many great actors in this series,” said Myolie. Anthony, an award-winning actor who has earned acclaim from critics and audiences all around the world, was said to have lost a great deal of money opportunities when he accepted the TVB filming offer. Myolie laughed and said, “Yes, he films blockbuster movies! However, I do believe that he is filming [for TVB] because of his own interests and it’s not because of money.” With the chance to act alongside Anthony, is Myolie feeling the pressure? “It’s a positive pressure; I’m just happy to have the chance to take part. I don’t want any awards. Having Anthony to acknowledge my [acting] is already enough for me.” Myolie revealed that she recently watched Anthony’s performance in the stage play Equus, a psychological theater drama about a psychiatrist’s attempts in treating a young boy who is religiously fascinated with horses. “[Anthony] is amazing,” said Myolie. “But that’s a given! Hins Cheung (張敬軒) also exceeded everyone’s expectations! This is a really difficult play after all.” Myolie is currently wrapping up the filming for the TVB drama Walking with You <陪著你走>, in which she portrays a blind woman. “Filming has been very smooth. The [guide] dogs behaved, the people behaved, and I just felt like time went by really fast. Moses Chan (陳豪) had it the roughest. He had the most screen time and seemed to be involved in every storyline. He had to take care of his son too, but he should have more time to rest now.” She also expressed that she missed the dogs she worked with in the series. As production for The Hero will not start until July, Myolie will be taking a break for a few weeks, occasionally making event appearances in Mainland China. Asked if she would be looking for a boyfriend as well, she said, “That’s hard! Earning money is even easier than that!” Creds: Oncc
