Myolie Wu increased her weight from 108 to 153 pounds in order to film "To Grow With Love," a series which was long regarded as her path to winning an award. However, Myolie walked away empty-handed at the TVB 39th anniversary. The producer of "To Grow with Love," Kwan Wing Chung said that Myolie's opportunities in 2007 will be there, as TVB is planning on filming a sequel to "War of In-Laws" (temporary title is "My Sassy Daughter-in-Law"). The sequel will offer Myolie a chance to recover the missed opportunity in winning an award. Mr. Kwan received a text message from Myolie last night. Although he could not reveal the contents of the message, his reply was, "We'll definitely be back!" to support Myolie in continuing to work hard. Mr. Kwan said that as long as Myolie is still in the industry, there will always be a chance. Although she did not win in 2006, there will be opportunities in the future. Mr. Kwan said that Myolie's greatest disadvantage was that "To Grow with Love" did not finish broadcasting before the awards ceremony. The audience only watch 10 episodes. A series has a beginning, middle, and end to it, with many twists in between. Only watching half of the episodes and without the viewing the critical emotional twists yet, how can the audience vote for Myolie? Although "To Grow with Love" did not help Myolie win any awards, Mr. Kwan said that this was just a bump in life experience, that it will only enrich her acting experience. Despite facing a disappointment, Myolie will have to overcome it, similiar to how Mr. Kwan has to analyze why "To Grow with Love" did not gain audience's favors? Did the problem exist because "To Grow with Love" was nominated for awards before its broadcast? Or because the audience has not watched the climax of the series yet? Charmaine Sheh's "Dance of Passion" was broadcast this year and she also left a memorable impression with "Maiden's Vow." Mr. Kwan strongly believes in Myolie and for 2007, plans to film the modern sequel to "War of In-Laws." The role will be custom-tailored for Myolie. As long as Myolie remains in the industry, there will be a chance for her to win an award at the Anniversary. Although the public feels the awards results were unfair for Myolie, Mr. Kwan hopes that the results will make audiences view "To Grow with Love" in a fair light and appreciate Myolie's acting and hard efforts. She sings very well too, I like both the song in the series. I think they should have an award for best theme song category too.
