A promotional event for TVB new series The Silver Chamber of Sorrows <銀樓金粉> yesterday and attended by cast members including Nancy Sit (薛家燕), Ng Wai Kwok (伍衛國), Shirley Yeung (楊思琦), Winnie Young (楊婉儀) and Jack Wu (胡諾言). During the event, the actors appeared in their period costumes from the 1920's era and played games, including using pull-carts to grab gold bars made from paper. Nancy revealed that it has been nearly three years since she had last filmed a series and this time she plays a villainess who is very scheming. She said that she has always brought good luck to her series and the show has some very good dramatic storylines, so she is confident that it will pull in the ratings. The story is based around the traditional views around the status of women and Nancy said that her character of a mother-in-law with a extremely biased viewpoint reminded her very much of her own mother-in-law who was extremely eager for her to give birth to a son. Shirley plays a maid to the family in the show and her character has a romance with Jack's rich boy role. She laughed that this is the fourth time that she has been paired up with him, so they have plenty of chemistry. Asked if they run the risk of developing real feelings for each other, Shirley smiled that they are very professional and this will not happen. Asked about memorable scenes during filming, Shirley told of how Jack had to frighten her with a toad, but she was genuinely scared of it and it nearly brought her to tears. Ay, this series, i am definitely seeing because the casts is awesome and i also want to see how well Nancy Sit will actually portray as an villian.
I was never too fond of drama from this era. Plus I'm not too excited about the cast, I never enjoyed Nancy Sit's acting. It looks too fake for me sometimes.

Almost Plagiarised I did find myself laughing bitterly at how much this series copies from 2007's class Heart of Greed. My surprise came to see all the characters almost clearly visible to me. I saw a Duk Duk Dei, evil BaoBao (of some sort), evil? Dai Kai (of some sort), Sai Kai (the closest to Susanna Kwan's version I have seen) and evil Foon (of some sort). I have a feeling that this series will not do as well as anticipated because of these similarities. Plus their story line is also about taking the family fortune.Thius far, I'm not very convinced. I kind of feel its unfair to Heart of Greed. I'm puzzled...<_<
This series sound interesting.. hope so , its nice... la..cos , fr see the cast, feel like wil be another nice series..
