I'm glad that the first two weeks of the regular season has been cancelled. Stupid OWNERS are just too damn greedy. FORGET about a salary cap. If you want to win, go out and spend a few bucks. If you can't make money, then fold your stupid team. GIVE the PLAYERS A FAIR DEAL ALREADY.

I never knew they could play preseason while being locked out :p

Actually salary cap for a team is important. So they dun friggen rig it with teams that has a huge sum of money that can pay,.

The salary cup is one of the most important policies in team sports. It allows teams to compete regardless of market size. Also it's not just the owners who are greedy, the players are as well. Let's face it, there are a TON of players who are overpaid. Neither side is willing to compromise with the other and both are just waiting for each other to break.

You can't blame everything on the owners, because the players have been stubborn as hell too. Both parties are responsible and both parties deserve a slap to the face. The only victims here are the fans, the sport, and employees of the various teams.

no games relating to NBA will be played...until negotiations are dealt. On the good side, seems like players are doing well oversees

i'm actually on the owners' side for this one. nba players are already by far the highest paid union in the world and the fact that they cannot even agree to a 50/50 or 51/49 BRI split surprises me. it doesn't help the players that they spend their money so lavishly.

  13. seriously.... players get way too much to warm a bench

The fact that we just came off one of the best NBA seasons in the past decade only to have a lockout is insane. Not to mention missing a possible year of Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, and all other up and coming players that are in or about to hit their athletic prime. It'll also suck seeing a bunch of the old players retire all together because of the missed season.

If ever there is a need to take sides on this issue, i'm on the side of the owners. Bottom-line is, owning a franchise is a business. No one wants to lose money on their business. Most players are over-paid anyway.

Seriously look at the NBA stars and look at the owners.

NBA Union: Most of them are ghetto turn wealthy over night due to a talent they have. Many don't even know what they are fighting for. Many are not keeping good public image as the lockout is going down. The fans are slowly but surely gearing the blame for the lockout toward the players.

NBA Owners: Many purchased their teams for a pretty hefty price. It is a COMPLETE lie if they say they are not making money. Even if they are not making money on paper they are making money through some channel of owning the team. No Rich man is going to pay millions for a team that is not profitable in some way.

My thoughts: In this economy the last thing I want to hear are near billionaires and lowly millionaires talking about how they do not have big enough a piece of the pie. The NBA is already losing fans to European basketball and Chinese basketball. If many of the stars are willing to play overseas (aka D. Williams) for 1/4 of their salary why not settle here?!!?!?
