personally i dont know the support winAVI has for vista

you will have to check their website and support forum (if they have one)

what are you converting file wise? have you got the correct codecs?

you can try this one... it supports vista.. its a trial version but i think theres a keygen/crack somewhere in other websites. not sure can it convert rmvb though.. i know it can convert DVD into 3gp, mp4, etc... since i used to use it for my psp and phones.

I don't really think Window Vista is going to support WinAvi yet. I've tested it already and i have problem converting right away. Tested like 1 1/2 month ago.

To make things simple. The majority of applications aren't yet compatible with Vista. It's because Microsoft has done away with so many of the old technologies that they have been using for years. For example, they got rid of DirectSound, has been working for the past 20 some years and now they finally got rid of it. Well guess what? It completely messes up people who uses soundcards. Long story short, even the Microsoft Zune wasn't working on Vista for awhile.

That is the reason I am sticking to XP. I have so many essential applications (including WinAVI) which is not Vista compatible yet.

I had the same problem, but then someone recommended me to use VGL media player, that programme fixed the errors in it and it worked, you might give it a try

Thats probly the best converter to use if you're converting to DVD. If you need the program just PM me. Or dual boot xp.

i just converted with convertxtodvd and it works with vista. but i also had to download ac3 filter to get the sound on (if you are curious, ac3 filter DOES NOT work with winavi--still no sound with this conversion).

    THANK YOU THE_JELLY, YOU'RE GREAT!
