I'm planning a trip to Taiwan in the beginning of next year. Does anyone have suggestions for MUST SEE places? Anyone know of any night clubs stars often visit? What's a good area to STAY? EAT? I'm looking to have a good time. Searching the web has brought me no where. I guess I need your opinions (people who lives there or had visited before). Really need a Taiwanese friend right now. -^_^ I'm veering away from tours from the US because I want more of a local feel.
National Palace Museum: http://www.npm.gov.tw/en/home.htm http://culturatti.com/2007/12/23/th...lace-museum-giuseppe-castiglione-lee-tze-fan/ When the KMT fled China back in 1949, they wanted to retain as many of the art treasures as they could, both for altruistic and political reasons. Hence, while fleeing, they nonetheless orchestrated the movement of the most valuable pieces of Chinese art from the museums and forbidden city. But, if you really want local feel: ...or you can also visit a local barber shop and get more than just your usual kind of hair cut. For the uninitiated, they're fronts for brothels.
