Has anyone noticed a change in the PA forum layout today, or is it just my pc lagging? -sweat After some -detect I notice new information added right at the bottom of the forum page. "Total members that have visited the forum today" and oh dear, below, it listed the names of each and every member that visited the forum today. This newly added info is something which I suspect is seriously lagging the loading of the page, and I wonder if I am the only one noticing this? Please post here if you noticed this (the lagging and the longer time to load) as well.
Yup, I have this lagging too and it's only on PA. Hehe and I think that extra bit of info with the total members that have visited today is only interesting for the PA crew and board stalkers.
lol the index page on the forums lagged pretty bad for me too but just for internet explorer, once i switch to firefox, the problem was gone.
yes make the switch to firefox! that "Total members that have visited the forum today" is on a trial run for a couple days , we're seeing if it helps with sign ups or not.
brain make the switch to firefox it'll be the best thing your surfing experience can be! i was hard headed and avoided it for years and just recently switched a month ago because ie was lagging with alot of the sites i goto. Browsing with tabs totally rocks and goodbye stalls and lags! www.firefox.com if not you'll hafta bear it for another day or maybe forever ever ever ever ever ever =D oh yes firefox is more secure then ie so less chance of spyware and ie always comes up looking weird on alot of sites but always looks perfect with FF.
Hmm, but I've just paid my subscription for my last.fm account and I'm afraid once I've installed firefox my Lastfm plugin won't work.
not necessarily a bad thing...and ya prob wont even notice it..u can try it..not making it ur default browser..n then remove it...
for those who prefer using i.e you can hide it by clicking on the arrows on the top right hand side this should help speed things up a bit
^ tried that lols, same result, either use mozilla or lag lols......well probably a lil bit faster but still pretty slow.
it works for me, well at i.e. and my bandwidth is at max as well for BT-ing with my bw at hardcore i noticed a considerable difference in loading times, but i guess it depends on how much you can tolerate since i know some people who are used to high speeds and even complained when they waited 3 secs for a page to completely to load, so yeah -lol i'm assuming its ok for me so it should be fine for you , if it doesn't work and the speed is not up to your preference then you have to use ff -tongue2
^Wah.. so it's permanent huh? Seems to me like a 'Hitler' style of forcing people to switch to FF... >.<
@ taxloss, hey you have any other browsers installed in your computer, maybe you can try them out, by default you should have netscape or something, unless you deleted it. or did the "hide" thing work for you already.
^ I already did the 'hide' thing and hide everything I didn't want to see and it still lags. My current problem is that my C drive has an amazing tiny memory space, like 10GB or something and I'm not sure whether it's wise to install FF now. :( (fault lies at the computer store who had to reset some things for me a few months ago and I can't find my original XP cd at the moment to restore the balance between the C, D and E drive)
