New to Kpop, what do you recommend?

I've been listening to JPop/JRock for years now, bands/singers like Do As Infinity, Every Little Thing, Garnet Crow, Misia, Ayumi Hamasaki, Hikaru Utada, Bonnie Pink and so on...

For about a year now I've been introduced to CPop and I really like singers like A-mei, Stefanie Sun, Tanya Chua, Cheer Chen and stuff like that.

I am trying to get into KPop as well. I'm pretty much clueless outside the korean singers in Japan (like BoA, Mink or The Grace).

So I am here looking for your recommendations on Korean singers/bands along the lines of the ones I mentioned above. I usually preffer female singers but am not closed to guys singing if they are in a band.

I personally would reccomend:
- V.O.S
- F.T Island
- Big Mama (especially their song Betrayal)

I know you said you mostly prefer female singers, but check out some solo male singers:
- Sung Ki Kyung
- Eru
- Whee Sung

Thanks for the recommendations. I downloaded a couple of albums from Big Mama and they have awesome voices, plus the music is good too. Tonight I plan on getting a couple of V.O.S. albums to check them out as well.

I tried SeeYa and they are very good too. Also downloaded something more Pop-ish: Chae Yeon, not so bad...

You mentioned a few guys, I'll check them out when I have the time. Do you know of any good rock bands, something similar to B'z, Luna Sea or L'Arc~en~Ciel?

ahhh there are many artists

 

Koreans don't seem to be quite as big on rock as the Japanese are. It's more pop/hip-hop/rap/R&B.
