TVB’s leading stars, Raymond Lam (林峯), Fala Chen (陳法拉), Sharon Chan (陳敏之), and Nancy Wu (胡定欣) filmed a sales presentation trailer for a proposed television drama, Eat for the Slaves <食為奴> at TVB studios. The trailer featured Raymond as a Manchurian emperor, Sharon his concubine, and Fala and Nancy as a pair of martial artists. Ron Ng (吳卓羲) also portrays a major character in the trailer. Raymond’s Manchurian emperor character will be his second time at tackling a role with royal lineage. His first emperor role was in the 2001 time-traveling drama, A Step into the Past <尋秦記>, where he portrayed Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of a unified China. As Eat for the Slaves is still in very early pre-production mode, the cast for the drama is not finalized. Raymond has only agreed to film the drama’s sales presentation trailer, but he expressed that he will consider filming the actual production when more background information of his character is released. Fala revealed that a majority of her scenes for the trailer are action scenes. Fala believed that her dancing background really helped her when she had to prepare for the major fight sequences. Fala said, “Both Nancy and I had to fight a lot. It’s a good thing that we have a dancing background. Before we film, we would do dance warm-ups and stretches together.” Asked if Fala was afraid of filming wire scenes, she said, “I’m not afraid. I actually really like the feeling of flying!” Fala also added that she hopes to be able to film more martial arts dramas in the future, and revealed that she has already found a martial arts teacher to train her.
