Niki Chow (周麗淇) has a golf-ball sized muscle tumor in her right calf, giving her persistent pain. The tumor is fortunately benign, but cannot be surgically removed due to its proximity to nerves. According to Face Magazine, Niki was unable to straighten her calf and suffered from muscle pain while filming producer Nelson Cheung’s (張乾文) A Good Heart Goes Haywire <好心作怪> in July. Since Niki portrays a police officer in the drama, a stunt double for her action scenes had to be used. Acupuncture has not lessened her pain. After thorough medical tests, Niki discovered that the tumor was fortunately not malignant and did not spread to the lymph nodes nor other organs. Although the tumor is benign, she is still troubled without an immediate solution, since surgery is not recommended due to the tumor’s close location to the calf nerves. Tissues from her right calf will be removed for additional testing. When Niki acted as a bridesmaid in her elder sister, Kathy Chow’s (周汶錡) wedding in France, Niki had not received the complete medical results regarding her tumor yet.
