Click on the picture to see it in full size Nokia’s remarkable 888 concept is ultrathin, lightweight, and very flexible. Powered by liquid battery, the 888 offers a touchscreen display. The Nokia 888 concept transcends conventional design and allows you to morph into any design you wish, roll it, bend it, clip it, whatever. We have all seen great innovation with Nokia's phone designs especially with the Nokia 7280 . Yanko Design features the Nokia 888 which is a lightweight communication device with a totally flexible form factor. What does that mean? you can roll it, you can make it a wrist band, you can straighten it, however you want it. it uses liquid battery and flexible touch screens for the concept. Lets wait and see ... how this phone would work in real..........
youtube clip of 888, http://youtube.com/watch?v=vhcCqG5XHwg i dont think its gonna work. its too.. strange? this leap is a bit too far for me.
The design and concept is good. But I don't like it, it doesn't look right. Like shinobi stated: "thats too futuristic for me"
These pictures are from a concept back in 2005, I believe. -^_^ It's heavily based on the "upcoming" flexible OLED display, which would allow the unit itself to me incredibly thin, flexible, and be lit without a backlight(b/c OLED is its own light source). But uh, as we can see, OLED still isn't ready for mass production yet. Although it has found a new property during this time, that being the ability to be transparent. Now about the concept unit itself, I wonder what tech in the far future would allow us to integrate all the necessary telecommunications devices onto a single circuit board that's millimeters thick. On a side note, flexible material are not flimsy nor prone to easy breakage. -cool
its concept...like not yet produced. Don't see it happening anytime soon. Everyone's still trying to get UI done right, let alone style.
O_O That is a cool phone. But it feels like I'm going to misplace it or something since it looks very much like paper or something. Doesn't look real or possible at the moment.
It reminds me of an amusement park ticket they stick on your wrist which you throw away at the end of the day, lol.
