Do you think Obama deserve the award? I don't like Obama but that has nothing to do with the fact that the Nobel committee totally fuck this one up. The guy haven't accomplish anything .. really mocked the award if you ask me. I begin to find the Nobel prize as a joke now .. the title doesn't mean shit now... like the chinese .. dogs and cats can get the award ..
^ I agree with you, but the other side to this is that since he has receive the prize, he would be pressure to actually accomplish something that is to maintain peace, thus he would rather feel the obligation to do so...

i also don't think obama deserved the award, at least not yet. it's too soon. the world needs results, not just promises of disarmament and diplomacy. however, this will give him confidence to act. i hope he doesn't let us down.

Some of the people that received the Nobel Peace Prize don't deserve it's not just Obama. Sometimes you think why these people get it.
he did TRY to show the sign of peace to countries, esp. those like Cuba. but we havent see how everything turn out, just the fact he flied to different countries and waved. based on the news someone nominated him either during the election or shortly after the election, i forgot but still, too early. my dad said i shouldn't think like that, then he shut up when he heard lots of ppl on the news opposed that too lols.
There is a growing sense that he really got the award simply because he isn't Bush. I tend to agree. He hasn't really done jack yet.
I don't think that a President of one of the most powerfull countries should ever get this prize... even if he had done anything.. because it is his job to do so
I think it's too early for him to get it. The question is what do you expect him to accomplish in less than a year into his first term. He isn't really superman.

anyway ... it has been decided .. the only thing the committee did with the award decision is changed the view of its worth and meaning of the Nobel prize; that it doesn't mean SHIT like it once was. frankly, i doubt obama will be able to make much changes during his presidency because he has so much clean-up to do from the bush admin and that alone isn't going well either. the econ is barely recovering, the war is still on-going, the health bill is still processing, and the energy and environmental matter are still in the talking ... peace talk? no success everywhere .. from euro to africa ... all i have seen thus far is that he's been flying here and there but fruitless. even the gay ppl are marching today demanding him to put the money where his mouth is .. come on ... it's all talk talk talk talk talk so far ...
Well,Obama is trying to challenge Africans to shed corruption and conflict in favor of peace.That's 1 point for him but really,it's too soon to give him the NPP.
