Sometimes I wonder why some of the newer series aren't done as well as some of the older chinese series? There are a lot of good older series out there, and some of the newer drama series, like the cat and dog one just doesn't seem to make sense?
I would say roughly around pre 1996 or so, or even maybe pre 2000 for older series. But even so, there are a lot of remakes of many series, and the story lines of those still seem better anyway.
maybe arouind 1994-2000 because back than i really like how tvb made their series interesting to watch and now? series are bad and all the same. thy are re=unning out of ideas for sure
This might be an effect of the mind. The old dramas might've been watched when they are still new, and when you are still young. Your first impression makes it look great, and now it doesn't look as good. Also older dramas are set in a different time period, like the dramas today try to be so modern and stuff that some of them look just plain retarded. The older drama had nothing to compare to, but now the 'newer' dramas have so many to compare to. They're 'Classics'... The first so they have the best impression of what's 'good'. They seem better because of the standards of the past are being compared to the standards of today which can't be compared so people cling onto those remains of nostalgia.
Well i would prefer the older dramas, i dont ever bother with the new dramas now. There is nothing new about them anymore and the storylines are just so easy to guess. Some of the best dramas were in the 90s and early 2000s.
prefer the old series like 1997-2003 nowadays series just look like they lack imagination alot of time wasting moments and the new actors and actresses just aint cut out for it
What i have noticed is that the new chinese dramas are filled with (wayyyy too much) special effects. the story itself are less interesting as well
80's was supposed to be tvb's golden era with all the old era veteran stars and new ones starting out like chow yun fat, andy lau, tony leung , felix wong , maggie cheung ect and new original productions, it was also a golden era for movies too. Kids these days grow up used to watching horrible acting, singing and crappy productions and they wonder why we are complaining. i feel like most the people who ran the productions behind the scenes retired and left it to their new generation sons and daughters to run the show and it turned out like the mess we have today. Non the less there are still good things to be found but not as frequent as it once was. if anyone is looking for a good 80's drama i would recommend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6Xkczq1_0U
i dont like series that are too old because i find the lighting puts me off slightly..do enjoy some from the early 90s..actually the whole of 90s was pretty good..with series today its more about watching the pretty boys and pretty girls than watching the story..theres only about 2 good series per year now..
i actually prefer the newer dramas, but i must say one of my favorites was detective investigation files!
I don't like new dramas at all. Haven't watched anything new for over a year already cuz storyline is not good and the acting just sucks ball.
