At the passing of one of America's greats I recall when Neil Armstrong was landing on the moon and it was being televised nationally, I was arguing with my mother over what to watch on our modest 13 inch black and white rabbit eared television; I had wanted to watch the baseball all star game. Luckily being a stern parent and having a bit more intellectual substance than her snot nosed teenage son, my mother won out and I actually got to watch as Armstrong stepped off the leg of the lunar lander onto the moon. Not even born yet .. lol but I do remember writing a biographical research report on him and the lunar mission when I was in grades school. I often wonder what he saw then and how it felt like back then ... still live to tell the story sorta thing .. brave man indeed.
