considering the way the award season has gone, it could be a boring one, i reckon the oscars are gonna/have to follow sheep ie whitaker, mirren, murphy hudson, scorsese the only kind of exciting one is the best pic, a two horse race between the departed and little miss sunshine
can't really comment; haven't watched most of them. Although I heard from a friend The Departed in Best Motion Picture category is really good.
haven't seen most of the films that were notimated but i don't think will smith's performance in puruit of happyness warrants an oscar. it simply wasn't good enough to get an oscar. the departed was a good film but i don't think it was superb, little miss sunshine was good but i doubt it will win.
I am not THAT sure about Whitaker, since I didn't watch half of the films in best Leading Actor category, but I certainly think Mirren in The Queen were better than both Streep, Winslet and Cruz (not sure about Dench though) The best film cat kept me wondering too, I don't think Little Miss Sunshine will win just because Oscar is SO against Sundance, and LMS got such a buzz going on there.
^^you never know, lms has won alot at the guild awards (pga, sag and wga), they always seem to be a good indicator of who wins oscar night
I certainly hope so But I will probably end up feeling bad for Scorsese NOT winning best director for like the millionth time.
