Hey guys, I was wondering how do I go about capturing video from TV onto my PC... Do I need to get one of those special cards? or as long as I can hook my PC up to the TV, there should be software that'll doing the capturing?
if you can already connect your TV to your computer then that suggests your computer must have been bundled with a tv tuner already so you should be good to go on the hardware front. now i guess all you need would be the software, but i dont know what is good for that. just google some stuff lol
oh gee.. thanks for the help... 'just google for stuff' -lol nah that was helpful. Thanks. Cause I do have the TV tuner.. but I wasn't sure that's what I need for capturing or if I needed to get separate card...
u can do it the "dodgy" way since it plays on the computer screen theres these programs that let u select a window (u can draw the window) to capture and u just record from that i foudn some freeware that did it, i only needed it for something so yeah,,, but quality is another issue... i've only done it the dodgy way before lol i'm sure hteres capture programs that capture it straight from the input plug
hahah ok reno.. I'm not quite sure what you mean.. I'm talking about hooking the computer up the TV and have it play a video or something and record it onto the computer.. I need someone to recommend me some good software..
well basically u got some peripheral (dvd/vcr/wateva) device thats plugged into the pc as input and with some software (thats usually given with the video card, which most ppl lost... lol) then u can play the input device on the pc as with all software they show up in a "window" which u can always full screen right? what i did was, dl some freeware that records whateva that is on my pc screen. so if that peripheral device was playing on my screen (after i plugged it in and play it using some software) then i could record it... thats the "dodgy" way im sure the software that came with the video card would let u record it directly, so it would be of better quality? hope this makes sense lol its a late day at work ...
i don't know how playing it on the tv will get it to record on computer. but i think that a tv tuner allows the antenna cable to plug into computer.. so u don''t need the tv.. watch and record just using the computer. to make it easier u could get one of those splitters and have one antenna cable for tv, and one for computer. saves having to plug and unplug everytime u need to use it.
lol i have a tv tuner/ composite video cable in port in my comp and all i have to do is plug it in and use a bundled software and i just hit record. but if you installed the tv tuner yourself, then i think you have to find 3rd party software, like other suggestions, google haha...
i never used my tv tuner >.< if you have media center or something.. while watching tv and want to record it just press it! lolz
