It’s official – Linda Chung‘s (鍾嘉欣) boyfriend, Philip Ng (伍允龍), confirmed that he will be filming his first TVB period drama. Philip shared his new TVB identification card on his social media account today. Skilled in a wide range of martial arts forms, Philip has starred in and choreographed the action stunts for several Hong Kong movies. Currently managed by Wong Jing (王晶), Philip’s film career is on the rise. Since 2013, reports were abuzz that Philip will collaborate with TVB, although final negotiations only clinched recently. Philip’s new TVB drama in tentatively titled Hero Within the City <城寨英雄>, which will also star Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), and Grace Wong (王君馨). Used to performing action scenes in movies, Philip looks forward to filming martial arts scenes for the new drama. Initially, it was rumored that Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) came up with the idea for the storyline and was supposed to be the lead female actress in martial arts series. However, her role later went to good friend Grace Wong instead. It is speculated that Linda purposely dropped out of the dream to avoid generating unnecessary gossip. The producer for Hero Within the City, Jazz Boon (文偉鴻) clarified that Linda’s name was never on the cast list to begin with. Jazz stated that any reports claiming Linda would work with Philip in the drama were false. Creds: Ming Pao
Philip ng... Remember few years ago he just a extra. Actually knew about him cuz he was friends with Van ness I think.
He was pretty much like a stunt/martial arts guy that played 2nd/3rd string characters a few years back. He later because a lead and have bigger roles. Interesting to see what he brings to a TV series...
uuurrgghhh i really don't like TVB's period dramas... not sure if anyone else shares the same view with me. But I know i won't be that into it... so in turn it'll mean I won't end up watchign him much this time either. I think they should put 'newer' actors/actresses in modern films to break them in
I usually watch the first 5 episodes of ancient dramas. If it doesn't interest me.. then I skip it. I still give it a chance though. But 80% of the time I'll skip it. Ruco and Linda looks better together..
haven't watched any of his movies yet but looking forward to his acting in tvb! more importantly, looking forward to see his muscular body
She has had quite a few films where her on air bf and her break up and she has an epic crying scene... wonder if that'll continue?
It was a few years ago where her crying scene gave her a pretty decent boost and could even say "cemented" her status as a lead actress. I think it was "Yes Sir, Sorry Sir" as Miss Koo. Also the drama where it gave Cilla some popularity too..
Yep, for months when that drama aired I really liked Cilla. One thing I give to her is that she looks like 22 when she's litterally almost 30.
Ahh yes, that was THE show that had an epic crying feature... it boosted her ratings also Cillia needs more air time... and not as a bratty kid
good looking cbc that cant act lol tvb full of them why him? me think this is a moveto keep linda happy and stay at tvb this guy has great dimples tho extra points for that bulky guys like him dont loo good in ancient costume look at him law lol
Cilla voice can get annoying though. If she controls it, it should be good enough. And shinobi's right, could be a move to keep Linda at TVB. Hopefully Linda is loyal enough to stay.. but also gets opportunities elsewhere while still being contracted with TVB. is an ABC and bulky, maybe he was a candidate
