I'm gonna be going to Toronto for about 2-3 days. Does anyone have any good recommendations on where to go eat? I've heard that there are some really good Chinese restaurants in Toronto, but I personally don't know anyone who have been there.

What about attractions? I may be going to the Hockey Hall of Fame (not sure if anyone here are hockey fans). Is there anything around there worth visiting?

    Thanks!!

Toronto sucks balls. I should know. I've been here all my life.

You should have came several months earlier, Wonderland is closed for the year. Anyway, you should definitely go to Pacific Mall. It's the biggest Asian hangout you can find in Toronto, with thousands of stores and plenty of food. Other than that, the only other thing to do is to go get hammered at a bar downtown with friends. And if you have the time, take a walk on Yonge Street, supposedly the longest street in the world.

Speaking of food, get your ass to the Mongolian Grill. It's right at Pacific Mall. You get to make your own bowl of noodles as many as you like, and watch a chef cook it over a huge 'wok' for you:

There's also a buffet there. But the main thing are the noodles. The buffet is nothing to write home about. I heard for dinner they have huge shrimp and crab legs though. But I always go for lunch because it's half price. ;)

But the best collection of Chinese restaurants is at First Markham Place. Click here for more info:
http://www.firstmarkhamplace.com/info.php The food here should be more expensive than what you find at Pacific Mall. I went to a Dongbei restaurant a month ago. I assume it was pretty authentic, because the servers were mando. But expect most restaurants to be canto-owned.

How can you say Toronto sucks ballS!!!?

I'm not from Toronto ... but I have been there every year for extended periods, and know my way around quite well.. I'd have to say its the best place in Canada.... ... Winnipeg? Halifax?? REGINA?!??... CMON!... :D LOL

The city I am located in truly sucks balls. We are already hitting -30C and below, there is nothing to do here, nowhere good to eat (Chinese), basically an overall shitty and arrogant city.

    Haha... guess :p

It's a real city though - so it's not like a small hut in Nunavut....

But the temperature is wacked... two days ago, it was only -12, and then today it's like -33....

Haha.... well I applaud you guys for winning the Grey Cup :)

No. The only things you'd really want to see in Toronto is the Hockey Hall of Fame and CN Tower. After that, you MUST spend the day eating at First Markham Place. Seriously. It's only a 25-35 minute drive from your hotel (without traffic). And well worth it. Generally speaking you probably don't want to go to the Chinese restaurants in downtown. I haven't been to one in the last, oh, 15 years. Well, I went out with friends for lunch 2 years ago, and the meat smelled bad, and the food just downright sucked.

why does everyone hate downtown's chinatown?! i freaking love that place. get the cheapest stuff there. the food isn't that bad. u guys make it sound like ppl pick up dead rats and cook it. maybe u all just have too much expectations. it's freaking chinatown. what else were u expecting?

oooooooooohhhhh...besides pmall and the fresh noodles...must go to congee wong!!!! i have a freaking obsession with that place. -bigclap

Those are such typical "touristy" things to see.... Hockey Hall of Fame and CN Tower :O... But you definitely must make a stop at Eaton Centre...

Agree with you lee-lee... everyone keeps giving Toronto's downtown Chinatown a bad rep... hey, if it wasn't for those early migrant workers who originally settled there, Chinese srburban hotbeds like Scarborough and Markharm wouldn't exist today. It's really depressing to see how much Chinatown has crumbled lately, and that it is mainly the elderly and tourists who frequent there. There are still some good restaurants there... I don't know so much about shopping though.... 龍城 and the other one, Chinatown Centre are falling apart... and most shops on the street sell nothing but Canadian souvenirs..... Nonetheless, Chinatown rocks. Where in North America can you go and see anything that matches this...

Oh and by the way.... why limit yourself to only Chinese food... Just remembered... you should try to make a stop in Koreatown... the food there is soooo gooooddd......... I think its near Bloor st w and Bathurst... there's a subway station right there, I think.
