This article got me thinking; many people come from foreign lands but yet retain a certain amount of affiliation with their motherland. But if it comes down to who you chose to defend, you have to make a choice. You're either on the side of the United States or your birth country. Since a naturalized citizen takes an oath to renounce foreign allegiance and/or title, by giving secrets to a foreign government, such a citizen would violate that oath, and hence the conditions on which their citizenship was based. Poll: Should naturalized US citizens who act in a treasonous fashion be striped of their citizenship and deported? Additionally, if the US and the People's Republic of China were to fight each other in a war, would you fight for the US or willfully forfeit your US (or Canadian, Australian, UK, etc) citizenship and go fight for the PRC?
i said lose everything upon conviction. as for fighting in war . hahaha .. i am not chinese so can't comment. i doubt ppl in the military will trust and let chinese american fight anyway .. probably go back to the japanese camp again ... lol who knows ..
ok my made up option!! >_< id fight for none of them haha one is where my ancestor's background lies, the other is where i was born its too hard to choose, id probably be demonstrating n ask all the other dutch chinese to support me with the call for peace ? good idea? anyway, if i were to pick an option in the poll it would be the last. of course its normal for a country to deport ANYONES ass for that matter, even if its like a die hard american! id u betray the country u go....why would they allow u to stay, deporting makes sense
