A press conference for the RoadShow Ultimate Music Awards Ceremony <RoadShow至尊音樂頒獎典禮> was held today and it was announced the the awards will be presented on 03 January 2008. To start the proceedings, a special Ultimate Palatial Song Award was presented to Priscilla Chan (陳慧嫻) for her classic "Thousands Of Songs" <千千闕歌> and she seemed a little teary when she received the award.

Priscilla later explained that she was not crying and said that she is very happy. She said that she has been busy recording in the mainland recently and perhaps her tiredness has led to her being a little bleary-eyed.

After many rumours of having fallen out, ex-Beyond members Paul Wong (黃貫中) and Steve Wong (黃家強) both made an appearance at the event, but kept their distance from each other and did not even greet the other. After the main photocall, Steve made a speedy departure and Paul was asked why he had not spoken to Steve. He replied that they did not have the opportunity and it was a coincidence that one left whilst the other stayed. After this, he laughed: "It is not just me who stayed and it was not just him who left."

Asked if he would have minded posing for a photograph with Steve, Paul replied that it would be best not to because this would provide more ammo for the reporters to make up more stories. He added that he does not like posing for photographs, not even with girlfriend Athena Chu (朱茵). When the reporters joked about whether or not he would pose with her on their wedding day, Paul smiled that digital technology is very sophisticated now and suggested he should be very principled and not pose with anyone at all for photos in any more.

Paul was asked about the news of Ada Choi (蔡少芬)'s announcement of her plans to marry Max Zhang (張晉) yesterday and he said that he had known about her relationship a long time ago. Asked if he will be invited to the wedding, he said that he did not know yet, but he congratulated them and said that the couple are very well matched.

There have been rumours that Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) has been in contact with TVB to negotiate the award for Asia-Pacific Most Popular Female Singer at this year's JSG awards. Asked about the reports at the event today, Miriam said that this was not the case and smiled that the reports were unoriginal and grating. She said that she has just returned from abroad and smiled that if she had to call TVB herself, then this is not showing respect to her boss Peter Lam (林建嶽). She added that if she was so ambitious in this way, she would have done it five years ago and not waited for so long. She added that if she did win the award, it would be a great accolade because it would be a surprise for her to break into the Asia-Pacific market.
