it looks alright...of course i don't have a big hd tv to compare it to but it's better than sd lol... pro- save money con- you'll have to output the sound seperately.
720P, if the game is 1080i/p then i believe it will zoom in cause 1080s resolution is... uhh 19 something AHhaha its cheaper =]
con is that you don't actually get full 1080p since the res. for 22" maxes out at 1650x1050.. so fullest you can go is maybe 1080i with it dropping signals occasionally.. you'll need at least a 24" and if you want surround sound.. you'll need to plug in an optic cable to speakers. playing on a smaller monitor is better because you don't necessarily have to sit so far back like you would from a big TV.
I think it would look better on a 22"/small 1080p monitor because jaggies/aliasing will be less noticeable since the pixels are finer. On my 46" 1080p tv, the jaggies are pretty bad on a 1080p game like GT5 Prologue.
A Playstation 3 has a display 16:9 ratio, a 22" monitor 16:10. So it will look a bit stretched. Also if you have a 22" with HDCP support then you can connect your ps3 directly with a DVI - HDMI cable.
had my PS3 hooked up to an 22" Acer LCD previously. Did 720P , looked reasonable but was still wayyyyy too small for my liking. Anything less than a proper 42" + LCD TV i wouldn't bother with 1080P anyways, so if you can get over the small factor then you're in business. So i had a HDMI - DVI cable hooked up to the PS3 and LCD, and optical audio to my Logitech Z5500 (Keeping in mind you will need a external audio source)
Yep.. running a Dell 2408 with HDMI and it looks great... as well as the Xbox 360 ... I guess 24" is good enough for my desk.. if it's for my lounge, then I would want at least a 40"
