Hey all, I'm trying to get a puppy for my gf. I'm just wondering how many ppl here have a dog or their gf/bf have a dog and what kind of dog do you or your gf/bf have.
Well, a doggie is a must for the stereotypical asian girl...One of those small ones of course. Bichons, Malteses, Minipin, and one of my friends even has a chiwawawa? As I smell the urine on the cushion I'm laying on, I'm telling you that dogs are only fun to play with, not to take care of.
Cute puppy. A puppy as present is perfectly fine. But is your girlfriend willing to take all the responsibilities that it requires to take care of a dog.

Did she ask for a pet? Never give a pet as a gift unless they have specifically asked for one. That's another life that needs a LOT of time. And that's not just feeding and walking. Pets need affection and don't like to be left alone. Vet fees also aren't cheap. My dog just had an infection on his left front paw and I had to pay a few hundred in medical bills. If she asked for a dog, and you are both ready for it, than a pet is great.
yea i agree. a dog is not like a mp3 or a necklace, u cant just ignore a dog wen u r bore of her. i think a dog as a gift is a terrible idea because you dont know what kind of dog and what kind of temperament they want. lets say your gf wants a lapdog and u get her a maltese that has too much energy. thats one more dog in the shelter that could've went to a home that wants a high energy dog. i have a shiba inu and its a lot of work. the best way to give ur gf a dog is to pick one out with her and buy it for her. maybe even pay for the vet bills for her lol.
