Spider-Man director Sam Raimi is unsure about superhero franchise' future - insisting he does not know what his "future holds yet". Despite this year's release of Spider-Man 3 setting the box-office alight, it's rumoured Raimi will not be back for the fourth installment if actors Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst do not return. He tells Mtv News, "Sony Pictures is going to be making many more Spider-Man pictures. I just don't know what (my) future holds yet." "It would be really hard for me to make a movie without Tobey and Kirsten playing the two leads." "I would still hope that Sony would offer it to me (to direct) first. Source: Teen Hollywood
I doubt that Tobey Maguire is going to make any more Spider-man films... I remember reading interviews where he said that he cannot handle the stunts or something... -rolleyes
The third one is already a mistake, if I may say so. Story wise it was a disaster... Not to mention the horrid pacing of the film >.<
they should just stop making them if the third one was an idea of what future spiderman movies will be like.
Although I must say I would always end up seeing these films which I know are bad and I would hate them... But big budget, what can you do LOL PotC is an example, LotR was yet another... the verdict is not in yet for Harry Potter...
Ya, after disappointment of spidermen 3, i don't think i will miss it if they don't do another one. My next anticipation will be Transformers, hope that is good. Maybe they should should make "beast wars" too, loved that when i was a kid. lol
3 was totally a disappointment.. storyline-wise, but special effects and the fighting scenes were good. If they make a 4th and Tobey/Kirstin not there, it's gunna be sad... I'd probably still watch it cuz I like the cartoon haha!
I think Toby will still be in the 4th one, but I won't be surprised if either of them don't come back. I just hope if they get a new director they don't get a horrible one like Brett Ratner. That man is a true series killer.
I don't want another spider man. The last one was stupid. I wanted Venom, but like the VENOM FACTOR, not that lame half-assed movie where...good god...topher grace played venom...
Really? I loved Topher Grace in SM3... probably since I didn't follow his previous works -tongue2 But I do have to agree that Venom didn't get enough screen time >.<
