Multi-talented Taiwanese artist, Rainie Yang (楊丞琳), performed at Hong Kong Coliseum for the first time. Rainie’s “Love Voyage Tour” was packed with a full house last night. Throughout the concert, Rainie displayed her strong stage presence, musical talent, and dancing skills. The show also came to a stunning finale when Rainie plunged underwater.

At the beginning of the show, Rainie was lifted to the stage with wires, and greeted her fans in almost perfect Cantonese. Moments later, she was airlifted off the stage, performed an acrobatic flip, and sang her song while hanging upside down!

During the concert, Rainie managed to use a mix of her slightly accented Cantonese and Mandarin to interact with her audience. To show her appreciation for Hong Kong fans, Rainie delivered three of her songs in Cantonese. She displayed her musical talent by performing songs and playing the piano simultaneously. For the slower songs, Rainie had a nicely choreographed contemporary ballet sequence and for the slower tunes, she switched to dynamic hip-hop moves.

The highlight of the show came at the end of the concert. A large transparent tub filled waist high with water was raised on stage. With fans screaming at the top of their lungs, Rainie slowly dipped herself into it, and finally submerged herself completely under water for twenty seconds. Her white dress floated around her, revealing her white swimsuit underneath, which is her sexiest public appearance to-date.

“When I was in the water, I heard the fans’ screams. I finally understand why some performers will cry underwater,” Rainie said.
