rar...u get more features and better compresssion and the ability to split large files into smaller sections...and rar also recognizes zip files..
i dont get it, how come one time i did a compression into RAR and it turned a 7 GB file into a 5 but sometimes, it only does a couple MB...
Totally depends on the data, some data can be compressed a lot due to the way the algorythms work in the program, some not, just luck i guess -huh
Rar for sure... Even when you compress and stuff, it's much faster (you can set the mode) and rar support .zip files too -cool2
back in the dos days we used ARJ files to split into 1.2 megs so they'd fit onto the floppies! i rememeber installing windows 3.1 and then windows 95 with 15-25 floppy disks *laugh! to compress or do stuff we had to type long commands like a programmer would without being one "-ar +b +compress +r +c 1.2 -a +24 c:\game\c&c\ a:\c&cdisk1.arj" *or something like that* god the dos commands were long and hard to rememer lol... i was sad to see windows taking dos away but now i realize what a bitch it was! =P
