On September 29, the cast of Hong Kong comedy, Love is… Pyjamas <男人如衣服>, including Raymond Lam (林峯), Karena Ng (吳千語), Teresa Mo (毛舜筠), and director Vincent Kuk (谷德昭), attended a press conference for the film held in Guangzhou’s Tianyu Plaza. In July, 32-year-old Raymond Lam and 18-year-old Karena Ng were caught on a dinner date, and Raymond also took the initiative to take Karena home. Although the rumored couple denied their dating rumors, they did not rule out the possibility of seeing each other in the future. Karena also continued to praise Raymond highly despite his infidelity rumors, and expressed that she did not mind their 14-year gap. She also admitted that she had exchanged phone numbers with Raymond. However, in their recent appearance in Guangzhou, dating may not seem very likely for the pair. Throughout the press conference, Raymond and Karena avoided eye contact, and sat as far away from each other as possible. When the reporters confronted the pair about their rumors, Raymond and Karena acted as if they did not know each other at all, leaving the film’s director, Vincent Kuk (谷德昭), to answer the questions for them. When a reporter asked Raymond to critique on Karena’s performance in the film, he shook his head, but expressed, “We had very little screen time together. Our characters do not really interact with each other in the film. However, when I watched the film’s final cut, I can see that she is a very hardworking and talented actress.” As Raymond finished, Karena smiled awkwardly and nodded her head respectfully. Director Vincent Kuk jumped in to break the awkward atmosphere, “This film is Raymond’s first try at comedy, so he feels a lot of pressure. When we were at the Hong Kong premiere of the film, Raymond looked extremely nervous because he was scared that the audience would not find him funny. Luckily, Raymond’s character was hilarious to the audience. That got him to relax a bit more.” Raymond revealed that he portrays a very talented photographer in the film. The reporters then asked Karena when Raymond looked the most “chok.” Karena joked, “He likes to pose when he’s sleeping.” Raymond immediately turned red. When reporters asked Raymond if he liked to take self-portraits of himself, Vincent Kuk jumped in again and responded, “The camera he held in the film was a very big one! They would be very bad self-portraits.” Thankful with Vincent’s help, Raymond immediately nodded and said, “Yes, yes!” Also starring Lynn Hung (熊黛林), Hai Qing (海清), Raymond Wong (黃百鳴), and Ronald Cheng (鄭中基), Love is…Pyjamas is touted as 2012’s most entertaining love comedy for women. Produced by Raymond Wong and his company Pegasus Motion Pictures, Love is… Pyjamas premiered in Hong Kong on September 28. The film will open in mainland China on October 12.
