Raymond Lam (林峰), Kate Tsui (徐子珊), and Michael Miu (苗乔伟) promoted new TVB drama, Fight Crime <雷霆扫毒>, at Filmart 2012, an expo showcasing film and television projects in the Asia region. Cast members from TVB’s heavyweight dramas this year, War and Beauty 2 <金枝欲孽 2>, Ghetto Justice 2 <怒火街头 2>, Prominent Family <名媛望族>, Fight Crime <雷霆扫毒>, Stairway to Heaven <天梯> and The Great Eunuch <大太监> were in attendance. In Fight Crime, Raymond will portray a “manly cop” who pushed the boundaries of the Police department’s code of conduct due to his unorthodox ways. Kate Tsui will portray a “Drug Queen” who often got in trouble with the law, but still managed to win Raymond’s heart, while Michael Mui will play a villain. Over the past few days, the media speculated whether Raymond will meet ex-flame, Mavis Pan (潘霜霜), at Filmart 2012, since the actress was also scheduled to appear to promote her latest project. In March 2011, Raymond and Mavis’ bed photos circulated online, shocking many Raymond fans. Since breaking up last year, the pair has reportedly not met in person afterward. Thus, it was a source of contention as to whether the pair will meet again at Filmart 2012 and how they would react in such a situation. Yesterday, Mavis’ appearance at the expo was cancelled due to a technical error encountered by her team. Mavis’ sudden absence aroused suspicion among the Hong Kong media, prompting queries as to whether she had intentionally tried to avoid him. Raymond said, “I do not know about other people’s matters. I hope that her work goes well.” As to whether TVB had exerted pressure to prevent Mavis’ attendance, Raymond replied, “This is a public event; that’s largely impossible.” Raymond further stated that their former scandal had already passed, thus he did not dwell on whether they will meet at future events. “If we see each other, then I will nod at her.” He added that there was no need to feel embarrassed.
