Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) has entered the last trimester of her first pregnancy. From ultrasound results, the baby was developing well and was a healthy size. Miriam said that the baby’s projected due date will be in June. Although Miriam’s husband, Real Ting (丁子高), indicated that he was not nervous, he was unsure as to whether he will be cutting their son’s umbilical cord at birth.

With only a few more weeks left before their son’s arrival, Miriam and Real have already made advance preparations where possible. Although it was common for pregnant Hong Kong women to pick an auspicious birth date and choose induced labor, Miriam declined to do so. Real said that they will allow for the baby’s arrival to occur naturally.

Miriam’s new movie, Love in the Buff < 春嬌與志明>, continued to perform strongly at the Hong Kong box office, raking in approximately $25 million HKD in its third week of release. Aside from promoting the film recently, Miriam has significantly reduced her work load. Despite her first pregnancy, Miriam remained calm, assuring her fans on Weibo, “I received many concerned messages from friends. Everyone, please do not worry about me. There are still 2 months left before the due date! Mr. Ting is just nervous, that things will not occur as planned, such as booking 3 venues for an event for backup purposes. Although my belly is huge now, I’m still active and like to go outside!”

Many first-time fathers were sometimes more nervous than their wives in the delivery room witnessing the birth of their child. Although Real was not afraid of blood, he was afraid of looking at internal organs. Thus, he was not certain as to whether he will be cutting the baby’s umbilical cord.
