I just went through my spam box, and there was an email from my own email address

This has happened before, I use to send email reminders to myself, or CC myself to emails I right, and once I found an email i wrote to myself within my own spam box.

But this time was different I received spam from my own email that WAS spam. Someone was using my email address to send Spam out!!!! But they didn't hack into my account to do it.

  2. some spammers have devised a new trick, hoping to fool gullible email users... by showing them their own address, hoping theyd be dumb enough to check it out, and click on the links provided lol

is that even possible..ive nerver heard of this before..-confused

  4. ^ it could be... devise a code that copies recipient's emails, and modify the sender's box to include the recipient's email...

yea it's possible, it's actually quite easy
back in University, we learned how to create programs to send out emails, and you can fill in any goobily goop in for the sender, so it is quite easy

that's how spammers send emails from a non-existant email

Oh yes, in my company now we receive at least 10 spams a day. It's either selling of a watch or selling of things to make something grow bigger. And the sender always seem to be another colleague or myself. And at times the subject even has my name or my colleague's name.

I gt some of them before but I would never check it out, because it only shows my email address and not my name. Friends who send me mails have their name and not only email address. Plus the title is very weird too.

Never happen to me maybe because I don't just give out my email to random people online.
